Party for a Purpose
This summer I have decided to take my Stella Dot business to the next level. I have decided to partner with as many business and individuals as possible to “Party with a Purpose” this summer. Every trunk show I hold, I will donate my commission to the charity that my Hostess holds near and dear to her heart.
This month is the perfect time to host – because all hostesses receive and additional $50 in product credit when they host a $500 party!!
Not to mention DOT DOLLARS are back!! WOOOO … for those of you that dont know – for every $50 you as a customer spend, you receive $25 “dot dollars” to use as credit for next month!!
I have just a few dates left – the most desirable being Sunday June 30th! Message me for other dates and how we can arrange to raise money to benefit a cause that is important to YOU as we Party for a Purpose this summer!

Working your ass off does pay off
I cant describe the feeling I have today. Its pure joy, I feel like I did win the lotery. I have been working at my company since September, I was hired as a field development analyst – pretty much my job was to help our brand reps in whatever they needed. Over time I have picked up several other responsibilities and my work load has easily quadrupled – I have never been happier! The only issue is that I cant live off of what I make each week (by live I mean pay loans, medical bills, rent + live the life I want) so I still bartend at least 2x a week… Its just exhausting… I don’t think ill leave the 21a… after all its been my home for 7 years, but I needed to justify all the hard work I was putting in.
Last week I finally did just that. I asked for exactly what I wanted – and made sure to explain why I already deserve it and think I will be able to do even more in the future…. I was called into a meeting almost a week later. My CEO and President announced a new position which came with the raise I asked for AND a bonus structure. I have never felt more amazing. Not lucky, not the right place at the right time… I felt just RIGHT… like I got what I deserved… and that my friends… is something I haven’t felt in a really really long time..

Life as a Stella Dot Stylist
You may see my posts about Stella Dot here and there and yes I am a stylist. I cant help but share how much I LOVE this company and the amazing feeling it gives me to be a part of something so much bigger than me. I started as a stylist last year and have enjoyed every moment of it!!!
Today marks the launch of the summer capsule. I am SOOOO excited to announce that we have expanded into hand bags.. which practically quadruples our market! I am looking for 4 new stylists to add to my team by the end of April + it couldn’t be a better time with this months sign up special!! If you are friendly, outgoing, socially savoy and have 5 hrs a week this is the perfect thing for you!!!
Stella Dot is giving away an extra $100 in jewelry credit when you sign up before the end of the month… after being here for almost 2 years I can tell you that these offers do not come often 🙂 Email me for more information at [email protected].Â

Strength Finding
Last week we all had to read “Strength Finders” and take a test online where you had to pick one phrase or the other depending on what you feel more stronger about. The test determines your top 5 strengths based on the answers. The test was given company wide and the results were compared within each group to see where our strengths lie. “From cradle to cubical we spend our lives we devote more time to fixing our shortcomings than to developing our strengths.”
The idea is building a team through strengths. One of the ideas in the book is if you spend your life trying to be good at everything you will never be good at anything. Society encourages us to be well rounded but this theory breeds mediocrucy – instead we should focus on what we are good at. My top five were:
communication: people with strong communication theme generally find it easy to put thoughts into words. They are good conversationalists and presenters.
individualization: people strong in individualization theme are intrigued with the unique qualities of each person, They have the gift of figuring out how people who are different can work together productively.
input: people strong in the input theme have a craving to know more. Often they like to collect and archive all kinds of information.
learner: people strong in the learner theme have a great desire to lean and want to continuously improve. In particular, the process of learning, rather than the outcome excites them.
restorative: people strong in the restorative theme are adept at dealing with problems. They are good at figuring out what is wrong and resolving it.

Design Salon: You’re always selling
I attended the design salon at twelve chairs this week with my friend molly in an attempt to get molly the kick in the butt she needs to apply to designs school and selfishly to finally meet the gorg Erin Gates of Elements of Style (while also trying to invite people to the Bona Clara launch party).
Erin and her amazing hubby Andrew discussed the sales side of business. He touched on a few key points:
- you don’t have to sell to everyone
- let the customer lead the convo – everyone loves talking about themselves
- be confident in your product (even if thats you)
- read marketing books not sales ones
Over all be genuine and caring. Develop a relationship with your potential customer and figure out how you can help them. It was a great discussion but I cant help but mention their chemistry. They are just perfect! Balance each other out perfectly, Erin is a self proclaimed, insecure, pessimistic, worrywart and Andrew its an optimistic, confident, sales man.
I left Monday evening with an extra pep in my step. Knowing I really can do anything I want and I will blog till I get there (and after)… not that I even know what I want really… I cant wait for the next design salon!!
Bona Clara Launch Party
Last night was the official launch party of Bona Clara!!! We had the perfect space – a private room at Eastern Standard,
delicious cocktails,
beautiful displays
a few of boston’s most fab bloggers, the ladies from What Gents Don’t Get
and the amazing woman behind Rue Le Chat not to mention several others –
and amazing friends and friends of friends. It was a perfect night all around + left me with butterflies of excitement as Jasmina announced this is just the beginning of something truly amazing.
(our team doing the “kiki” arms wide or the “frankie” cool dude hands move)
I have to say I belong here and it feels so good…

Push
There has been a number of changes in the management position above me since I first took my job in September. One of which was there for a few short months but I feel as though she may have been a game changer for me. I never thought of a career in social selling but this woman has done it. She has made me think differently than any other person has.
We still stay in touch and she asked me my goals for this year. I told her – she said they aren’t good enough – come back with more specific ones
I told her personally:
I will make sure I go out at least 1 weekend evening – I will not allow myself to work all weekend.
Professionally:
I will attend Stella + Dot Hoopla this year
I will get a promotion
I am so happy to have her as someone as a mentor if this is the career path I choose.
🙂
