Winter Proof Lips

No matter how much I apply chapstick it seems hopeless… even on the regular I can’t seem to keep them from being uncomfortably chapped. Now add in a make out last weekend and I am pretty much screwed… I feel like I have tried everything…

Carmex, Vaseline, Burts Beeswax… my newest trial is Figs + Rouge (another Glossy Box treasure). This is a tinted lip balm so its a little more than just chap stick – which I like – but now I feel like I am comparing apples to oranges – I do however like it so far! Ill keep you posted on the chapped level of my lips! What has worked for you guys?

Puffy the Eye Bag Slayer

 

I received these under eye patches in my glossy box last week and I LOVE them!!! I have tried a few things similar to this in the past and they really do work well. I am especially attracted to the packaging on these guys! I know I have said it before, I am every marketers dream, just the name would have made me purchase it! Since working for Bona Clara I have started to pay much more attention to my skin and what it needs. They say if you think of your face as a paper bag, then the skin around your eyes is like tissue paper. These bad boys go for $11 for a package of 3. March Trunk Show Madness

I think March has the best Trunk Show Exclusives I have seen in a long time… the Travel case and La Totale are one of my fav prints and the Dot Bloom was one of my very first statement pieces that hands down gets the MOST attention ever!

Stella Dot in February!

With my recent increase in free time and brain space, I have been turning focusing to my Stella Dot business. I learned so much with Bona Clara as it relates to social selling dynamics that I transfer to Stella, the biggest takeaway being courage. I seemed to become fearless when talking about a product I know worked and an opportunity I felt SO passionate about. I am taking that energy, the single thing I was best at with Bona Clara and I am using that to find 20 seconds of courage to pick up the phone for my Stella Dot business. After all, even at Bona Clara we looked at Stella & Dot, lead by CEO Jessica Herrin, as the TOP company in the social selling space – and guess what I already have a foundation laid there!

They have really come SO far and seem to have every little detail already addressed! With backing from one of the top investors in the venture world, Sequoia Capitol and board members from a variety of impressive brands not to mention the CCO Blythe Harris who has worked at LVMH and other luxury brands, there is no surprise at the level of growth they have seen.

Natural Glow

As a strong believer that everything in life is a little “better” with a tan, I find myself constantly in limbo, knowing the damaging effects the sun can have on your body, I like to go for the next best thing, spray tan! I feel skinner, my teeth whiter, my lips worthy of latest shade of lipstick, my confidence lifted, you see, when you are confident, everything looks a shade or two better.

I have posted in the past about my fav at home spray tan in  a can – perfect for an every day boost of “better”, but some occasions call for a bit more. Sometimes you need a full body spray, that’s right, a stand there naked while the magician makes you ten shades of better.

Lucky for me, Natural Glow Salon moved just around the corner from my Northend apartment. In just 15 min I feel like a new woman! In prep for my tan I showered, exfoliated, shaved and moisturizer as much as possible, went to the Salon in the with loose pants and a what I thought to be a loose shirt… After standing in front of the fans drying for a few min post spray, I knew the shirt wouldnt do, so I put on my winter jacket, sans bra and shirt, zipped it up and skipped home to let it soak in just a bit more.

Tomorrow morning I will shower off the bronzer and be left with a perfectly natural looking glow! If you live in the Boston area you have to make an appointment – after all, everything in life is a little better with a tan!

Matched.com of Job Hunting

Since my company closed at the end of January I have been slowly dipping my toes into the job hunting pool… today as I sat across from a few of the smartest women that I had the pleasure to work with at my company, I was listening to their interview experiences of the last few weeks and thinking job hunting is like dating, and I think that’s why I am sucking at it.

 Set the bar high: after all I deserve it right?

Make them feel important: each person needs to feel special.

Be available: but not too available.

Respond in a timely fashion: but not to quick after you receive an email, after all you dont want to look desperate.

This is what you want: you need to tell them all you want them/this more than anything, even if you have to say the same thing tomorrow to a different person.

Always better and less awkward when you’re introduced by a mutual friend than just clicking “send” online, but in desperate hopes to find something that will make you happy again, and fill the void, you do it anyways .

Ugh… no wonder why I haven’t jumped in with both feet just yet… I think ill keep “wading” at the edge of this pool till I am ready.

Being a self proclaimed  “marketers dream”  I have tried a TON of skin care products, cleansers, toners, masks you name it. I have to say the ONE thing that has made a huge difference in my skin care routine is my Clarisonic brush. It leaves your skin feeling squeaky clean, removing all the makeup and actually cleaning my face and not leaving a bit of cleanser left on my face. Not to mention, it makes all cleansers last at least 2x as long, you can use the smallest amount!
