Health + Wellness Wednesday

I going to dedicate Wednesday posts to health and wellness, I have one body and one mind and its my job to take care of it. In an effort to keep myself accountable I have decided to share it with everyone here. I am heading to Nantucket this weekend and Cancun the week after that and I want nothing more than to feel good and CONFIDENT in a bathing suit.

I invested in T25 and a Brazilian Butt video andddd a “reset” from Beach Body (which I have decided to wait until I return from my vacation due to interruptions). I am shooting to do at least 30 min of physical exercise each day and to eat as clean, unprocessed and few carbs as possible until my trip.

I tend to be a snacker so I needed to prepare healthy options to reach for rather than the easy grab and go at most places I would stop. I decided to try these no cook energy bites I saw on Gimmie Some Oven Blog!

It took me a bit to get used to the texture but I think I actually like them – and I really like the fat that I don’t feel guilty snacking on them! Do you have any healthy treats you feel guilt free when snacking on?

Weekend Wonderful: Lazy Sunday

Sunday I spent the day downtown – we started with brunch at Stephanie’s on Newbury where we sat at the bar (which I LOVE the closeness yet informality of) and I enjoyed a bloody mary – they have the most amazing selection that you can customize a delicious Eggs Benedict and some friendly company surrounding us.

It was a rainy weekend here in Boston so we venture too far, went a few stores along the popular downtown Boston street, stopped into LUSH cosmetics – which I have heard so much about but never taken the time to stop in. It was SO cool and the staff was SO helpful and not at all pushy. They have handmade soaps, bath balls, handmade face masks that are SO NATURAL they only last a week and you have to keep them in the fridge – how is that for safe! After about 30 min of touching smelling and feeling I knew I needed to cash out before I bought one of everything. With a few goodies in hand we walked down to MET bar where we enjoyed a few drinks and people watched… well I people watched, I think he watched the game…

On the way back to the Northend we stop at City Sports – we both got a new pair of kicks – which i needed desperately – I love the grey and bright yellow of mine!! Nike Free is the BEST sneaker for me – I learned all about the different versions and what the 3.0 vs 5.0 meant – I opted for the 5.0 and let me tell you – putting them on just makes me want to run around!

How was your weekend?

ClassPass

Tuesday this week I had the privilege of attending a (my first) spin class at FLY in downtown Boston. ClassPass is this new concept where you pay a monthly fee for up to 10 classes per month at some of the BEST studios in Boston!! Last night was the launch of the ClassPass program here in Boston, studios like Equinox, C2 Pilates, BURN Fitness Studio and FlyWheel are just a few of the ones they plan to launch with, adding new studios each week!

Back to this being my FIRST ever spin class… and the day after I did my first T25 workout (which was so tough). The first ten minutes were the WORST, my feet were clipped in and the super buff instructor told us to get into third position – instantly I wanted to figure out how to unclip my own feet… Once I realized there was no way I could figure that out – I just pushed through. By the end of class I felt SO good!!

We also got these great little gift bags and salads and smoothies after, all of which made it hurt a little less 🙂
